Pedro de Aranda Avellaneda (1662 – 1702) was a Spanish military who exerted as Acting Governor of Florida between April and August of 1687. He was also a main Sergeant of the Presidio of Saint Augustine, Florida, and Alcaide of the San Salvador de la Punta Fortress in Havana, Cuba. ==Biography== Pedro de Aranda Avellaneda was born in 1662, in Cadiz (Andalusia, Spain), to Juan Almario Avellaneda, and María de Aranda y Ponce de León, both born also in Cadiz.〔(Tabla de parentescos de don Fernando de Castilla, Regidor de La Palma (S. He tested in Havana on November 18, 1699 to the Ensign Juan Uribe Ozeta. He married on March 24, 1680 with Josefa de Estrada y Velázquez de Cuéllar, daughter of Captain Hilario de Estrada y Recio (a trustee Attorney general, and Perpetual Regidor of the Havana), and of Luisa Velázquez de Cuéllar y Mexías. They had 2 children, Antonia and Hilario de Aranda Avellaneda y Estrada.
